Exchange of experts at ESSC-D’s annual conference confirms the importance of Six Sigma in everyday project work
Around one hundred experts, users and interested parties met in Berlin at the beginning of March for the largest Six Sigma conference in the German-speaking world, which is convened once a year. The event was organized by the European Six Sigma Club Germany (ESSC-D). The two-day event focused on implementation strategies in companies and an intensive exchange of ideas. Experienced experts, such as Norbert Faulhaber (Deutsche Telekom AG) and Dr. Stephan Back (Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH), provided a practical insight into the procedure for introducing Six Sigma.
At the conference, it became clear that a combination of Six Sigma and lean management is the way forward. “The most important thing is to combine the initiatives. It depends on the individual company and its organization as to how the link can be optimally implemented,” said Dieter Szemkus, Chairman of the ESSC-D, summing up the discussion. The next annual conference will take place next year at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt.
