From practice – for practice “: Six Sigma conference at Hager Group”

The European Six Sigma Club (ESSC-D) organized a conference on process improvement on 14 November at the Hager Group, one of the leading specialists for electrical installations in real estate. Representatives from various companies, including Tenneco and Tehalit, shared their experiences and successes in using Six Sigma methods. “We introduced Six Sigma a few years ago and we now use the tools very successfully in many everyday situations,” said Rolf Krietemeyer, Head of Management Systems at Tehalit.

The aim of the event was to demonstrate the benefits and advantages of Six Sigma in specific applications. Company representatives presented their experiences with the methodology in practical presentations. Topics included the optimization of stamping quality, scrap reduction in catalyst production and the use of creativity techniques in Six Sigma projects. “The event demonstrated and confirmed that Six Sigma is much more than just statistics,” said Josef Menke, Managing Director of Excelitas Technologies. The annual two-day Six Sigma conference will take place in Nuremberg from February 28 to March 1, 2013.
