European Six Sigma Club e.V. Expands Its Quality Framework to Include New Lean Guidelines

Wedel, December 9, 2025 – The European Six Sigma Club e.V. (ESSC-D), which has been a recognized authority for many years on binding quality standards in the training and certification of Six Sigma Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts, is setting another milestone in the professionalization of modern improvement methods. In close collaboration with its network of experts, brand licensees, and numerous experienced consultants, the association has now also developed comprehensive guidelines for Lean training.

With the publication of the Lean Master Black Belt Training Guidelines and the accompanying Certification Guidelines, the ESSC-D has established a uniform, clearly defined quality framework for the highest levels of expertise in the Lean field. Both documents are now available online on the association’s website.

“Today, Lean experts need a robust combination of methodological excellence, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of value stream design and sustainable process optimization,” emphasizes Lena Thiele, CEO of ESSC-D. “With the new guidelines, we are ensuring that these skills are taught and assessed according to uniform standards.”

The new guidelines are intended for training providers, consultants, companies, and Lean practitioners who wish to elevate their qualifications to a professionally recognized level. They supplement the existing Six Sigma framework, thereby creating a consistent, cross-methodology competency model for process improvement and operational excellence. Those interested in certification can contact the association.
