SUMMARY:Understanding process versus understanding nature
DESCRIPTION:Online presentation by Daniel Fügner\, Additive GmbH \nWhether you want to better understand your process or nature\, the challenges of data analysis are always the same: Both require sound data\, clever analysis and common sense. I would like to demonstrate all of this using the example of my “home river”\, the Nidder. In particular\, I will be looking at floods\, temperature and water volume over the years. One or two ideas can certainly be transferred directly to your own process world. In the end\, we will not be able to avoid the topic of climate change. \n_________________________________________________________________________________ \n \n  \n  \nYou can find other interesting dates relating to quality management in the QZ-online.de diary\n_________________________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY:Lean vs. Six Sigma - classics of process optimization in a direct duel of philosophies\, boundaries and roles.
DESCRIPTION:Lean vs. Six Sigma – classics of process optimization in a direct duel of philosophies\, boundaries and roles. A practical insight for advanced practitioners and those who want to become one. \n\nWith over two decades of experience in Lean and Six Sigma consulting and training\, I have often found that choosing the right Six Sigma seminar or the CEO’s favorite method is not always a perfect fit for the company.\n\n\nWe will take you on an informative journey through the two management approaches\, highlighting the differences in their philosophies\, but also the limitations of the tools. You will also find out which roles make the decisive difference in practice. \n\n\nSuccessful introduction and implementation requires a little more than luck. As Confucius said: “People don’t stumble over mountains\, they stumble over molehills.” Proven strategies for navigating the bumps included. \n\n\nQ & A\n\n  \nSpeaker: Alexandra Lindner\, Contales – Consulting & Training \n_________________________________________________________________________________ \n \n  \n  \nYou can find other interesting dates relating to quality management in the QZ-online.de diary\n_________________________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY:Automated data preparation and analysis with R
DESCRIPTION:Further training for up-and-comers in quality\, production and logistics and for anyone who regularly deals with data\nThis training is carried out together with our cooperation partner Grundig Academy. The flood of data is constantly increasing in day-to-day business. Data records need to be processed quickly\, visualized and searched for anomalies in order to derive suitable measures. Particularly in the areas of quality\, production and logistics\, the data records are often constantly updated with consistent structures. The handling of spreadsheet programs can take up a considerable amount of daily working time. In situations like these\, scripts for data preparation and data analysis are used. This allows standard tasks to be completed quickly\, conveniently and\, above all\, error-free. Scripts also allow best practices to be shared within a team. With the advent of freely available artificial intelligence\, there are also constantly available helpers for creating these scripts. The insights gained from the analyses also often need to be summarized in reports. Instead of generating these by “copying and pasting” from one document to the next\, these reports can be made available by script or even fully automated. This not only saves working time and avoids errors. It also opens up new possibilities for process monitoring and control. \n\n\nTarget group\nThis training is aimed at \n\nAnyone who works with data on a daily basis. The more time you spend using spreadsheet programs every day\, the greater your benefit will be. \nExperts in quality\, production and logistics\, but also in controlling and other areas that use ever larger and more complex data volumes.\nStudents and anyone who wants to prepare for tasks in order to be able to carry out data analyses effectively\, quickly and reliably.\n\n\n\n\n\nPrerequisites\nYou will get the most out of this training if you have a lot to do with data and data analysis in your day-to-day business and are familiar with spreadsheet programs. Statistical or knowledge of programming or macro languages is not required. \nTo participate in this course \n\nyou need your own laptop\nhave installed the R language\, ideally RStudio\, and\nhave registered with ChatGPT or similar language models.\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive the necessary instructions. You may need the approval of your IT department or your own laptop for these installations. R\, RStudio and access to ChatGPT are available free of charge. \nIt is an advantage and useful for you\, but not necessary\, if you bring your own data set (for example\, the production of a day or a week). You do not have to share this data set with others. It is helpful if you have the permission to talk about the structure of the data (column names\, number of rows\, …) and to show your evaluations to the participants. \nYour benefit\nParticipants learn through extensive exercises to create scripts and reports independently\, to adapt existing script blocks (such as those provided in help forums) for their own questions and to use large language models such as ChatGPT for the creation of scripts. \n\nFast and error-proof analysis of data\nCreate standard reports from complex data “at the touch of a button”\nFree access to the best analysis tools and help forums\nUse of artificial intelligence for everyday data analysis work.\n\nThis program is primarily aimed at employees of companies that \n\nwant to meet the challenges of digitization proactively and cost-effectively and who\nrecognized the increasing importance of handling data and want to “democratize” the skills required to do so.\n\nThe following skills are taught in the training: \n\nData preparation with R scripts\, graphically and statistically\nCreation of analysis reports using R-Markdown\nData preparation with the dplyr package\nCreate professional graphics with the ggplot package\nUse of artificial intelligence and ChatGPT in data analysis.\n\nFocal points\nYou will receive all data sets and scripts for the training. The training also deals specifically with questions from participants about their own data sets. \n\nExpectations of the participants\n“The light at the end of the tunnel”: ChatGPT creates a complete analysis script\nIntroduction to the use of R and RStudio\nData formats and functions in R\nRead data into R and save results from R\nCreate your own functions\nBasics of data preparation with dplyr\nBasics of creating graphics with ggplot\nData analysis: creating\, modifying and professionally documenting scripts\nCreate professional reports with R-Markdown\nOutlook and demo: Web applications with R-Shiny\nProcessing a case study or your own data set.\n\nDuration\n2 days \n\nOwn preparation based on documents distributed in advance\nTwo days of classroom training and workshop\nSelf-study phases and individual support\n\nDates\nNuremberg \n04.12.2023 – 05.12.2023 \nParticipation fee 1.250\,00 €*\n\n* As an ESSC Deutschland e.V. member you pay only 950 €. Simply write your membership number in the comments field when booking. \nDigital teaching material and seminar catering included \n\nRegistration via the Grundig Academy: https://www.grundig-akademie.de/seminar/2091/Automatisierte-Datenaufbereitung-und-analyse-mit-R

I prefer to have” real code “written or corrected. Allow me to make the following assertion: After 1-3 days of training\, anyone can use ChatGPT to apply GB knowledge to statistics. … Only statistics\, not stakeholder management\, not process knowledge\, … But still: statistics.” (Michael Ohler) \n  \n_________________________________________________________________________________ \n \n  \n  \nYou can find other interesting dates relating to quality management in the QZ-online.de diary\n_________________________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY:Machine learning for predicting serious injury events in hospitals
DESCRIPTION:Unforeseen events and serious events (SE) occur time and again in hospitals. These include kidney failure\, sepsis or the need for blood transfusions and many other events that cannot always be expected from the course of the illness\, but can nevertheless result in a drastic deterioration in the patient’s state of health. The analysis and prevention of such SEs is part of quality assurance in hospitals. To date\, such SEs have been investigated by qualified physicians through manual review of patient records and recommendations for action have been made for hospital processes and treatments. \nIn our research project\, we are developing machine learning models to predict serious injury events from electronic patient data. A first step was the prediction of severe disease progression in COVID-19 patients\, where we can identify high-risk patients with high accuracy as early as 24 hours after presentation to hospital. Another example is the early prediction of kidney failure\, which is possible based on just a few laboratory values. In future\, we will extend these models to other classes of severe damage in order to enable time-resolved\, data-driven patient monitoring. This will increase patient safety and reduce the workload in hospitals. \nSpeaker: Maik Kschischo\, Koblenz University of Applied Sciences\, RheinAhrCampus\, Department of Mathematics and Technology\, Joseph-Rovan-Allee 2\, 53424 Remagen\, Germany \n

SUMMARY:Industry workshop “Pre-calculation of the CO2 footprint in the development phase”
DESCRIPTION:We would like to cordially invite you to the industry workshop“Pre-calculation of the CO2 footprint in the development phase” on March 1\, 2023 from 10:00 – 14:00 at the digiZ location Heidenheim\, Leibniz Campus 7. \nThe aim of this event is to present the current possibilities for calculating sustainability data in components and to jointly initiate future developments. \nFirst\, the use cases and solutions of a software from the manufacturer SIMUS are presented. The participants will then work together under moderation to develop a roadmap of where they currently stand and which additional sustainability factors could become relevant for their company in the future. \nThe event is aimed at decision-makers from development\, supply chain and sustainability – the maximum number of participants is limited to 20 places. \nWe would like to provide you with more details to illustrate this topic: \nClimate change and global warming pose major challenges for the economy. Climate-neutral and sustainable business practices are now an essential success factor across all sectors. A seemingly simple task\, but one that can be quite complex to implement in practice. On the one hand\, companies have to comply with laws and guidelines\, such as the Supply Chain Act\, which comes into force in January 2023. On the other hand\, the demands placed on companies are constantly increasing\, as the attractiveness of companies is increasingly measured and evaluated on the basis of their sustainable actions. It is therefore more important than ever for manufacturing companies in particular to implement a systematic approach to recording potential emissions in their production processes. \nWith its Classmate program\, the software manufacturer SIMUS offers companies a wide range of options for determining\, quantifying and structuring the necessary data from the value chain. \nIn future\, the predictions calculated by the program will not only be used to optimize processes and costs\, but also to calculate and reduce a CO2 footprint. \nThis event of the DGQ regional group Ostalb-Donau takes place in cooperation with the Digitalization Center Ostwürttemberg of the IHK Ostwürttemberg (digiZ) and the European SixSigma Club Deutschland e.V. (ESSC-D). \nFurther information and registration with Ms. Fetzer\, fetzer@ostwuerttemberg.ihk.de

SUMMARY:Online event: From crisis to strength - techniques for more confidence and self-efficacy
DESCRIPTION:Just as the coronavirus pandemic seems to be becoming part of our normal everyday lives\, the world is confronting us with other crises: ongoing supply chain problems\, high inflation\, rising energy prices… and the list goes on. How can we not bury our heads in the sand in the face of these challenges? How do we manage not to lose heart and hope in the face of so many crises? \nIn this lecture\, Lisa Morgner explains the reactions and dynamics that can arise when we are confronted with the problems of our time. She shows simple ways of dealing with them and how you can activate your personal powers of resistance – both privately and in your company.

SUMMARY:Statistical process control - rethought for improvements in healthcare
DESCRIPTION:Online lecture. \nWe have been able to win over the Danish doctor Jacob Anhøj for this online seminar. He has been involved in statistical process control for over 20 years and can show us many new perspectives. He says\, for example: \n“We can’t control a person’s health in the same way as we can control the diameter of a screw or the concentration of a chemical solution. We have to take this into account when controlling the process.” \nWe therefore look forward to new impulses and a stimulating discussion and attach the “Abstract” written by Mr. Anhøj\, which we consider worth reading. We also recommend the references listed below. \nNote:\nThis presentation will be held in English.\nQuestions can also be asked in German. \n+++ This presentation was originally scheduled for September 16. Due to technical problems\, we have postponed it to October 7. ++++ \n  \nRethinking statistical process control for healthcare improvement \nStatistical process control (SPC) was originally developed as a tool to monitor and control the quality of goods produced in the manufacturing industry. Today SPC has found its way into service industries including healthcare. While the thinking behind SPC is the same regardless of the domain\, the practical application of SPC varies somewhat.\n\nFirst\, healthcare is all about people\, which which we\, contrary to what we like to believe\, have very little control over. We cannot simply adjust the health of a person in the same way that we can adjust the diameter of a bolt or the concentration of a chemical solution. For this reason\, SPC in healthcare is more about processes (what we do) than about outcomes (what happens). Also\, because of the huge knowing-doing gap\, SPC in healthcare is much more about improving processes that controlling them.\n\nSecond\, healthcare workers and managers are generally not trained in SPC\, and very few know how to construct and interpret a Shewhart control chart. Perhaps for this reason run charts have become popular. A run chart is a time series chart without control limits and with the median as the centre line. It is easy to construct using only pen and paper. Runs analysis comprise test for non-random variation in the distribution of data points around the median and makes no assumptions regarding the underlying theoretical distribution of data.\n\nRun charts are generally considered less useful than control charts. \nIn reality\, runs analysis\, applied sensibly\, is better at detecting minor persistent shifts in data over time than the traditional Shewhart control chart.\n\nThis talk will introduce the concept of runs analysis and its application and suggest a way to reconcile run and control charts to get the best of both worlds.\n\n\n\nReferences\n\nJacob Anhøj\, Anne Vingaard Olesen (2014). SUMMARY:Automated data analysis with RStudio
DESCRIPTION:The flood of data is constantly increasing in day-to-day business. Data records need to be processed quickly\, visualized and searched for anomalies in order to derive suitable measures. This often involves new data records with the same structures every day. In situations like these\, scripts are used for data preparation and data analysis. This allows standard tasks to be completed quickly\, conveniently and\, above all\, error-free. The insights gained in the process also often need to be summarized in reports. Instead of generating these reports with “copy and paste”\, they can be made available “by script” or even fully automated. This not only saves working time and avoids errors. It also opens up new possibilities for process monitoring and control. \nTarget group: You will benefit most from this basic workshop if you have a lot to do with data and data analysis in your day-to-day business. Basic statistical knowledge as taught in Greenbelt or Blackbelt courses\, or experience with scripting languages\, Excel or Minitab macros is not required\, but will likely accelerate your learning curve after this course. \nAim/benefit: This basic workshop offers you assistance and security for your first steps with RStudio. At the end of the course you will be able to understand and customize existing scripts for spreadsheets\, graphs and analysis. You will be able to use scripting solutions from this course or from relevant sites on the internet. In this course you will receive scripts and data sets and experience “live” some of the many possibilities when using RStudio. \nLink to the course description and registration information \nTeilnahmegebühr: Mitglieder: 950\,- €. Nichtmitglieder: 1250\,- €. SUMMARY:How people like to solve problems and be creative
DESCRIPTION:Theory of adaptive and innovative problem solving: the full range of human creativity\nOur work in product and process improvement involves solving problems and being creative in the process. Sometimes it is said that the best solutions lie “outside the box”. But what if no one has ever really looked inside the box? Some people like one more than the other. Human diversity is fascinating and this also applies to the way we are creative. \nIn order to make the best possible use of this diversity\, especially in problem-solving teams\, it is important to know your own creative style first. This allows you to recognize and appreciate the approaches and preferences of others. This makes it possible to make the best possible use of the diversity of human creativity. \nThe fundamentals and application of adaptive and innovative problem solving theory will be discussed using real-world examples. The hope is that participants will be able to apply this important understanding directly in their own environment. \nPlease note: Due to scheduling problems\, we had to postpone this event from May 5\, as originally planned\, to May 12. We ask for your understanding.

SUMMARY:Lifespan or reliability\, that is the question here
DESCRIPTION:Brief description: \nThe topics of service life and reliability are always present. Catalogs and brochures often contain “interesting” information on service life. Even discussions on the subject often focus on “opinions”. This presentation will use a practical example to show how service life and reliability are linked and what needs to be considered when determining reliability. Typical areas of application of reliability technology will also be briefly presented. \nSpeaker: Mr. Thomas Rittler\, Festo SE & Co. KG \n
