The ESSC Monthly Data Talk provides an open forum for questions, discussions, and practical insights on Six Sigma, statistics, and data-driven decision-making.

The focus is on professional exchange among praks who work with data—whether in projects, process improvement, or analytical problem-solving.
Data Talk thrives on collaborative dialogue. Participants can share experiences, ask questions, and discover new perspectives. The goal is to learn from one another and take away concrete ideas to apply in their own work.

The discussions take place in an open, respectful, and constructive atmosphere. Different perspectives are expressly welcome, as they are often the very source of new ideas and solutions.

Meeting Agenda:
– Brief introductions of the participants.
– The day’s discussion topic, which is presented by the host and opened for discussion.
– If time permits: Discussion of topics brought up by the committee.

Here’s how ESSC Data Talk works:

The ESSC Data Talk takes place online once a month and lasts about an hour.
To begin, we’ll welcome the participants and provide a brief overview of the meeting’s topic. Then we’ll jump right into the discussion on the day’s featured topic.
The topic of the day is prepared by the hosts and serves as a common starting point for professional discussion. This is not a lecture, but rather an open discussion in which all participants can share their experiences and perspectives.
If there is still time after discussing the topic of the day, participants may also bring up additional topics for discussion.
Data Talk combines a clear structure with the opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts! Benefit from real-world experience and practical tips.

Your hosts – experience meets expertise

Our Data Talk will be moderated by Barbara Bredner (Industrial Data Analysis) and Anja Schauz(Festo SE & Co. KG) – two experienced experts in the field of Six Sigma and statistical data analysis. With in-depth specialist knowledge, practical experience and a feel for the right questions, they will ensure that each session is a real added value for all participants.

Barbara and Anja prepare a short impulse topic for each meeting to encourage ideas and discussions – but the focus is entirely on your questions and challenges. Both moderate the discussions, bring in practical examples and ensure that your voice is heard.

Whether you have a specific question or simply want to be inspired – at the ESSC Data Talk you can expect valuable insights, exciting impulses and a constructive exchange at eye level.

Introduction of the hosts

Barbara Bredner

Freelance since 2003, specializing in industrial data analysis in R&D, laboratory, QM and production. As a lecturer for Design of Experiments (DoE), through her own podcasts and through active participation in various statistics working groups and blogs, she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for statistical data analysis.
