Six Sigma conference at Schneider Kreuznach

The European Six Sigma Club (ESSC) organized a conference on the topic of quality assurance in practice at Jos. Schneider Optische Werke in Bad Kreuznach on 8 November. Representatives from various companies and organizations, including Boehringer Ingelheim, Hager Tehalit and the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, shared their experiences with Six Sigma methods. “At Schneider-Kreuznach, we have been working very successfully with Six Sigma for a number of years in order to further optimize our quality management,” said Dr. Josef Staub, Managing Director of the Schneider Group.

The aim of the event was to show companies the benefits and advantages of Six Sigma. Company representatives presented their experiences with the methodology in practical presentations. Topics included the optimization of direct run quotas, model factories, better goods flows for packaging materials and improved product development processes. “The specialist presentations provided a very good insight into the Six Sigma work of other industrial companies,” said Dr. Annette Büßenschütt from Excelitas Technologies. The annual two-day Six Sigma conference will take place at Merck in Darmstadt on March 1 and 2, 2012.
