New “German Six Sigma Award for Business Excellence” competition launched

Wedel, 14.06.2022

The European Six Sigma Club Germany (ESSC-D) has been awarding prizes for scientific work on the further development of the Six Sigma methodology for over 10 years. Every year, it looks for the best work in companies and at German-speaking universities and colleges. The ESSC-D has now added the “German Six Sigma Award for Business Excellence” to its established awards program. It recognizes outstanding work in four categories: 1. Six Sigma and Lean Management; 2. Agile Management; 3. Process Management; 4. digitalization and industrial transformation. As a result, entries can now also be submitted on topics such as improving product development using design thinking, implementing a SCRUM organization, concept studies on the use of augmented reality to improve human-technology interaction or implementing wearables in assembly. “We decided on the systematic expansion of the” German Six Award for Business Excellence “because the interaction of different optimization approaches and the mixing of methods is becoming increasingly important for long-term success in process optimization,” says Prof. Dr. Patrick Pötters, who, as the new coordinator of the award, has played a key role in shaping this further development. The trend towards method expansion had already become apparent in the variety of topics covered at the specialist conferences and in the latest range of topics covered by the association’s regular online lectures.

Further information on the “German Six Award for Business Excellence” can be found on the ESSC-D website (www.sixsigmaclub.de) under the heading “Activities”. Entries for the Six Sigma Award 2022 can be submitted throughout the year until the end of August 2022.
